A cover for covering (completely or a portion thereof) and irreversibly tyin g an object is disclosed. The cover includes a base; a fastening head attached to the base; and a fastening tail having an attached end and a free end, the fastening tail being attached at the attach ed end to the base, the free end being, when the base is positioned in relation to the object, insertably engageable with the fastening head so as to prevent disengagement of the fastening tail and the fastening head, thereby maintaining the base positioned in relation to the object. In variations, th e fasteners may be continuous. Various embodiments are suitable for sealing and repairing holes or cracks in pipes, tubes and engine exhaust components, bundling a stack of objects such as tiles, carrying or hanging bundled objects, forming a backrest for a chair or upholstery cover, forming a lid for a container, and being packaged in a roll.
