A flexible valve comprising a flexible sleeve (3) inserted in a fluid line (2) and made with two circumferential folds (9a, b), two opposite slides (5, 6) located between the folds (9a, b) displaceably in phase opposition and extending crosswise of the sleeve (3), and means for displacing the slides (5, 6) between positions, in which they allow the sleeve (3) to be open to flow and a closed position, in which they pinch a closing section (11) between the folds (9a, b) so tightly that the sleeve (3) is closed to through-flow. The folds (9a, b) extend freely between the connections (8) of the sleeve (3) with the fluid line (2) and said closing section (11) which furthermore is supported by the slides (5, 6). The flexible valve according to the invention has a longer service life and a shorter installation length than hitherto known. It is suitable for use as stop valve in the drain line from a toilet in a railway carriage, in which it can be continuously kept in the closed position without applying energy, and it is furthermore safeguarded against impurities getting out into and fouling the surrounding environment in the railway carriage . |
