PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeless discharge lamp lighting device, and a lighting fixture, of low cost, compact, and with improved reliability, and capable of controlling power at lighting so as not to sense any flicker of the discharge lamp, and controlling current at start-up in a short time for reduction of stress on switching elements. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a power source circuit 1, an inverter circuit 2, an induction coil 3, a starting-up current transmission circuit 4, an current control circuit 5, a lighting-on current transmission circuit 6, and a lighting-on power control circuit 7. A time constant in which the starting-up current transmission circuit 4 transmits a signal is set shorter than that in which the lighting-on current transmission circuit 6 transmits a signal. Therefore, output control at lighting on is smoothly carried out in a long time constant so as not to sense any flicker of the electrodeless discharge lamp La, and current control at start-up is carried out in a short time in a short time constant for reduction of stress on the switching elements S1, S2.
