PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Karaoke playing apparatus capable of reproducing narration suited to the contents of lyrics in each Karaoke music piece so that a singer can easily bring his (or her) feeling to signing and "field" atmosphere is livened up and capable of eliminating the necessity of enormous narration data quantity. SOLUTION: Music piece data to which lyric character data are attached and a plurality sorts of narration data to which keyword information is respectively added are recorded, and when an optional music piece is selected, the narration is retrieved on the basis of the keyword information included in the narration data corresponding to the lyric character data included in the music piece , and when the narration in which respectively added keyword information is completely included in the lyric character data exists, the narration is extracted and the voice of the narration is inserted into the introduction of the music piece.
