PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing magnetite particulate powder by which magnetite particulate powder excellent in dispersibility particularly in a resin and suitable for manufacturing a chemical toner can be manufactured in an efficient and environmentally-friendly manner. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing magnetite particulate powder includes; adding one or more coupling agents containing silicon, aluminum or titanium to a magnetite cake obtained by an aqueous iron salt solution neutralization-oxygen-containing gas oxidation method; and carrying out kneading, drying and heat treatment.
