PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a harmful substance-decomposition agent for removing a harmful substance from an atmosphere containing ethanol in deodorization of medical use or the like. SOLUTION: The harmful substance-decomposition material for medical use or the like is created by carrying a silk calcination body carbonized by calcinating a silk material at a temperature of 1,000°C or lower with a photocatalyst and phthalocyanine. The phthalocyanine is desirably metal phthalocyanine. Further, as the central metal, sodium, potassium, beryllium, calcium, barium, cadmium, magnesium, mercury, copper, iron, zinc, cobalt, platinum, chromium, nickel, palladium or the like exists. Further, as a functional group bonded to a periphery of a phthalocyanine ring, a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a carboxyl group, an alkali metal or an ammonium salt of the carboxyl group, a sulfonic acid group, an alkali metal or an ammonium salt of sulfonic acid, a quaternary ammonium group, an amine group or the like each independently exists.
