859,159. Driving arrangements for textile spinning &c. machines. PRINCE-SMITH & STELLS Ltd. July 31, 1958 [Sept. 2, 1957], No. 27556/57. Class 120(2). [Also in Group XXXVII] A textile ring spinning machine is associated with a frequency changer 24 which is driven through belt gearing 25 by a main motor 23, and is excited through contactor 21. Spindle motors 14 are supplied from the frequency changer which also provides a supply for a motor 29 which drives delivery rollers 10 through gear train 30 and also the building motion by which the traverse of ring rail 11 is effected. The speeds of the motors 14, 29 are regulated by adjusting the output of the exciter, independent starting and stopping of the spindle motors being afforded by separate switches 15. A solenoid-operated brake on the shaft of the motor 29 ensures the arrest of yarn delivery simultaneously with the collective stoppage of the spindles. Separate reversing switches for the spindles on two sides of the machine allows independent twisting in either direction. The motor 23 is associated with an isolator 19 and starter 20, the motor 29 having an overload release 31. A capacitor 32 provides power-factor correction for the machine.
|
