<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image from decreasing in display contrast, when displayed by an electrooptical device, even if substrates have a combination shift during the manufacture of the electrooptical device. <P>SOLUTION: The electrooptical device has a color filter substrate 2 and a counter substrate 3, arranged facing the color filter substrate 2. The color filter substrate 2 has a plurality of belt-like 1st light-shielding films 6 and a plurality of dotted coloring elements 7 arranged between those 1st light-shielding films 6. The counter substrate 3 has a plurality of 2nd light-shielding films 13 extending at right angles to the 1st light-shielding films 6 and belt-like electrodes 16 provided between those 2nd light-shielding films 13. Both substrates 2 and 3 are provided with the light-shielding films 6 and 13, so that even if the substrates 2 and 3 have a combination shift, light leakage can be prevented to eliminate decrease in the contrast of display, even if the substrate combination shift occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
