<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light scattering film capable of simultaneously achieving light scattering characteristics and the contrast of an image display under the thin film conditions, a color filter, an electrode substrate for a liquid crystal display, and a liquid crystal display using the light scattering film. <P>SOLUTION: In a light scattering film 9, transparent organic particles 11 and inorganic fine particles 13 are scattered in its transparent resin layer 12, (1) the film thickness of the light scattering film 9 is less than 3 μm, (2) the amount of combination of the inorganic fine particles 13 is 5-40 mass pts. against 100 mass pts. of transparent resins forming the transparent resin layer 12, and (3) the contrast ratio of the light scattering film 9 is 300 or more.
