PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select proper images as a reproduction object (e.g., a representative image with a high value and a high degree of notice) by a prescribed number of images, and sequentially to switch and to reproduce them, without the need for carrying out a job of selecting desired reproduction objects in advance while confirming many photographed images for every image so as to sequentially switch a plurality of the photographed images and to display the images. SOLUTION: An image management record file stores records including items of a "time stamp" denoting a photographed date and time, a "rating" denoting a degree of a favorite, a "number of viewing times" and a "viewing time" denoting a past reproduction state, and a "time interval" denoting a photographing interval in addition to items of a "title" associated with each photographed image, and a "comment" and is used for the management of the records. A CPU 1 refers to each item content of the managed records to evaluate the image, extracts the images by the setting number on the basis of the evaluation result by each image in the higher order of evaluation as object images for slide show display and makes a display section 5 sequentially switch and display them.
