PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate and recover, at high accuracy and high efficiency, wallpaper containing the paper component and PVC coating layer, while keeping respective raw material qualities of substrate backing paper and the PVC coating layer, to improve powder characteristics of the PVC component after recovery, and to recycle polyvinylchloride powers as easily handleable materials in a regenerated raw material market. SOLUTION: This separation/recovery method comprises three processes for: (A) crushing the PVC wallpaper by a crusher 4 with a punching metal or screen 5 with an aperture of 1-25mm installed thereon for regulating crushing size of the wallpaper; (B) separating the crushed wallpaper crushed in the wallpaper crushing process into the paper component and the PVC component by a separator 7; and (C) agitating the PVC component separated in the separation process with a stirrer. The PVC wallpaper has a bulk specific gravity of powder of the PVC component after agitation of 0.2-1.0, from which the regenerated paper component is separated from the regenerated PVC component.
