PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conversion structure of a metal tube optical fiber cord which can secure ample strength and is made applicable for branching conversion of a plurality of optical fiber cords. SOLUTION: In the converting structure of an optical fiber cable, a coated optical fiber being inserted into a metal tube 1 is exposed outside the metal tube, by removing the tip part side of the metal tube for a prescribed length, the exposed coated optical fiber is inserted into a tube 2 to convert the coated optical fiber into an optical fiber cord and the metal tube and the optical fiber cord are protected by a protective member 3 in the conversion region. The protective member 3 is provided with a first support section 9 which stores and supports the tip part of the metal tube and a second support section 10, which stores and supports the tip part of the optical fiber cord. The metal tube is provided with a section to be supported 1A, whose cross section is made into a non-circular shape so as to have a radius that differs from the base outer radius circle, at its tip part and a locking section having a suitable shape so that the first support section 9 contacts with the external surface of the section to be supported.
