PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bogie for a rolling stock capable of reducing wheel rolling sound, and ensuring safety even when it is derailed. SOLUTION: The bogie for the rolling stock is equipped with a sound absorbing material 21 fixed to an axle box body 11 in the vicinity where wheel 25 contact a rail 30, and the sound absorbing material 21 is installed away from the side surface of the wheel 25 by the width dimension of the rail 30 toward the width direction of the bogie, and along the longitudinal direction of the rail. The sound absorbing material 21 is fixed to the under surface of the axle box body 11 with bolts and nuts 24. Therefore, the sound absorption is possible at the near position where the wheel rolling sound is generated, and the noise outside of the vehicle can be reduced. When the railway rolling stock is derailed during running due to disaster such as an earthquake, the rail 30 is sandwiched by the wheel 25 and the sound absorbing material 21 by providing a clearance between the wheel 25 and the sound absorbing material 21 to be able to prevent rollover and ensure safety until the traveling is stopped.
