<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser-induced liquid jet generating device, safe for both patients and operators, capable of the irradiation of high-output laser beams for a long period of time without a catheter being thermally affected with laser beams. <P>SOLUTION: The laser-induced liquid jet generating device comprises a body 6 filled with a prescribed liquid W which absorbs laser beams, and a laser irradiation part 4 of an optical fiber 2 to which laser beams from a laser oscillator 1 are guided into the body 6. Laser beams are applied from the laser irradiation part 4 toward the liquid W to generate a jet stream J in the liquid W so that the jet is sprayed to the outside from the body 6. The laser-induced liquid jet generating device also comprises a catheter attaching part 12 to be integrally or detachably attached to a catheter member 13 into which the jet stream J is introduced, a jet generating tube part 10 in which the laser irradiation part 4 is stored for generating the jet stream J, and a heat-transfer preventive means 11 for preventing the thermal influence of the laser beams emitted from the laser irradiation part 4 from spreading to the outside via the jet generating tube part 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
