PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square battery with spiral electrode capable of effectively preventing internal short-circuit at an edge part of an outermost peripheral electrode plate while ideally flattening both faces of an electrode body. SOLUTION: The square battery with spiral electrode houses the electrode body 10 formed by laminating and winding a first electrode plate and a second electrode plate composed of a cathode and an anode with a separator 3 interposed. The spirally wound electrode body 10 is formed into such a shape that has flat faces 11 facing each other, and that corner parts 12 jointing both sides of the flat faces 11 are turned into curved corner parts curving with a prescribed radius of curvature. A terminal part of the outermost peripheral electrode plate 6 is arranged at the curved corner part 12 by winding the first electrode plate 1 and the second electrode plate 2 so as to continue to the flat face 11 and the curved corner part 12. Further, a chamfer 7 is arranged at an edge part 8 as a corner edge of both side edge of the terminal part of the outermost peripheral electrode plate 6 and a top end edge.
