PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the separating use of a guide roll segment without remarkably rising a facility cost and without needing a wide setting place with which in the guide roll segment constituted of a strand in a continuous casting apparatus, the separating use in the case of arranging an electromagnetic stirring device and in the case of arranging no electromagnetic stirring device can be applied. SOLUTION: In the opening hole parts 2a, 2b at almost the center portion in the casting direction of one pair of upper and lower frames 1a, 1b constituted of one of guide roll segment, intermediate frames 3a, 3b are arranged so as to be removable, respectively. Then, in the case of arranging no electromagnetic stirring device in the guide roll segment, the integral guide roll segment is constituted by arranging large diameter rolls 4 in the intermediate frames 3a, 3b, and in the case of arranging the electromagnetic stirring device in the guide roll segment, the intermediate frames 3a, 3b and the large diameter rolls 4 arranged in the intermediate frames 3a, 3b are removed and the integral guide roll segment is constituted by arranging the upper and lower one set of the electromagnetic stirring devices 7a, 7b in the opening hole parts 2a, 2b, respectively.
