PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of generation of abrasion and vibration by contact between a constant velocity universal joint and a roller. SOLUTION: This constant velocity universal joint has an outside joint member 10 for forming three track grooves 12 having roller guide surfaces 14 opposed in the circumferential direction, a tripod member 20 having three leg shafts 22 projecting in the radial direction, and the roller 34 rotatably fitted around the leg shafts 22 and inserted into the track grooves 12, and can move the roller 34 in the shaft direction of the outside joint member 10 along the roller guide surfaces 14. Shock absorbing material layers 15a, 15b and 15c are formed on a width surface of the roller 34 or an inner diameter surface of the outside joint member 10 opposed to the width surface of the roller 34.
