<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently conduct a special reproduction at a time when an MPEG stream is encrypted regarding a processing method and a processor at a time when the MPEG stream such as an MPEG-TS used for a digital broadcasting system or the like is stored and reproduced. <P>SOLUTION: The MPEG stream processor has a decoding block 34, to which the MPEG stream 35 containing a key information and a content encrypted by the key information is input and which outputs the decoded MPEG stream 39 decoding the key information to an origin. The MPEG stream processor further has an index generating block 40, to which the decoded MPEG stream 39 is input from the decoding block 34 and which generates the position information of the key information in the decoded MPEG stream as an index information 41. The MPEG stream is processed by such an MPEG stream processor.
