PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keypad back-lighting device for a portable terminal for uniformly illuminating a keypad of the portable terminal as a whole. SOLUTION: The keypad back-lighting device for the portable terminal is configured by including an upper case 111 in which a plurality of button holes are formed, a plurality of buttons 114b inserted into the button holes while being exposed therethrough, an electroluminescence (EL) keypad 114 continuously formed between the lower side surface of the upper case 111 and top faces of the buttons 114b, an electronic substrate 115 which is horizontally mounted at the lower side of the EL keypad 114 and comprises a back-lighting driving circuit for feeding power to the EL keypad 114, a lower case 112 which supports the EL keypad 114 and the electronic substrate 115 and to which the upper case 111 is coupled.
