<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian protection device capable of constituting itself light and compact and preventing a pedestrian from being run over. <P>SOLUTION: This pedestrian protection device S is furnished with a constraint member 8 stored on the lower surface side of a car body 1 and a delivering means 18 to deliver the constraint member 8 in working. The constraint member 8 is arranged at a position not projecting the side of a lower end 8a to the front side from a car body front end part 1a and is formed to position the side of an upper end 8b in the rear and to form a clearance GL between a lower surface of the car body front end part 1a and a road surface on the front side of a front wheel in a shape free to block. The constraint member 8 is constituted so that the side of the upper end 8b in completion of delivery is fixed on the side of the car body 1 and the side of the lower end 8a is connected to the delivery means 18. The delivery means 18 is furnished with a holding member 21 to hold at least left and right both ends on the side of the lower end 8a in completion of delivery of the constraint member 8 and a driving mechanism to move the holding member 21 to a delivery completed position P2 from a storage position P1 of the constraint member 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
