PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal unit with a function to prevent charging by a charger other than a genuine product and a conforming standard product. SOLUTION: Even if the charger other than the genuine product and the conforming standard product is connected to the portable terminal unit, radio communication is performed between a noncontact IC tag fitted to the charger and a noncontact IC tag reader provided at the portable terminal unit, and start of charging is permitted only when an identification ID of the noncontact IC tag fitted to the charger is validated to be an ID of the charger which is the genuine product and the conforming standard product, then charging by the charger other than the genuine product and the conforming standard product is prohibited.
