PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile communication system whereby a mobile station suppresses consumption of channel resources of a plurality of base transceiver stations through the handover by the mobile station. SOLUTION: In the mobile communication system wherein the mobile station MS measures reception power of the CPICH from each base transceiver station BTS and reports it to a radio network controller RNC and the RNC makes wireless connection of the BTS with the reception power greater than a prescribed threshold valueαto the MS to carry out handover control, the MS replaces the reception powers greater than the threshold valueαamong the received powers of the CPICH from each BTS except the maximum reception power with the same value as the threshold valueα(or a value smaller than the vallueα) (step A4), and reports the results to the RNC.
