PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compactly and inexpensively provide a lens device capable of accurately detecting a lens position. SOLUTION: A 1st lens group 30 and a 2nd lens group 31 are journaled by slide shafts 37 and 38, and made to freely slide along in an optical axis direction. An LED 35 being irradiated with light in a crossing direction with an optical axis is arranged obliquely ahead of the 2nd lens group 31, and a concave lens 31f refracting the light with which the LED 35 is irradiated and making it incident on an image sensor 21 at the rear end of the optical axis is provided at the upper part of the 2nd lens group 31. When the 2nd lens group 31 slides in the optical axis direction, the position of the light made incident on the image sensor 21 by the concave lens 31f is changed.
