<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data compression apparatus performing new preferable reversible compression enabling compression of CT data. <P>SOLUTION: This apparatus is provided with: a difference generating section for obtaining the difference between adjacent numeric values for sequence of numeric values forming data to be compressed, and generating new data to be compressed; a kind determining section for determining the kind of the data to be compressed; a compression processing section for first kind for applying reversible compression processing to the data to be compressed determined as the data of first kind; and a compression processing section for second kind for applying reversible compression processing to the data to be compressed determined as the data of second kind. In the compression processing section of first kind, the reversible compression processing especially suitable for CT data is performed, and in the compression processing section of second kind, the reversible compression processing especially suitable for LW data is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
