Method and apparatus for applying triacetin on a filter material web

The method involves using spray nozzles (3) to apply triacetin on a conveyed filter material strip used in tobacco processing. The sprayed triacetin are heated with controlled heating amount of provided heaters (31) before being applied onto the filter material strip. The controlled heating amount is determined by comparing the actual heating amount of the heaters with the maximum and minimum heating values of every heater. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) Triacetin application device; and (2) Use of heaters in triacetin application process.
