Sulfone group containing naphthalene dye (I), is new. Sulfone group containing naphthalene dye of general formula (I), is new. M : hydrogen, alkali metal, equivalent of alkaline earth metal or ammonium; X : halogen, 1-4C alkoxy, amino, 1-4C alkyl amino, N,N-1-4C dialkylamino, anilino, sulfo, hydroxyl-mono- or -disubstituted anilino or a group of formula (a-d), preferably, fluorine or chlorine or group of formula (a-d); A ->fluoride, chloride or equivalent of sulfate ion; n : 1 or 2; R 1>,R 2>1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, chlorine, 1-4C alkyl carbonyl amino or aryl carbonyl amino or combine to form group of formula (f) or (g); R 3>H or 1-6C alkyl; Q : group of formula (e); R 4>R 3>, phenyl, chlorine- or sulfo substituted phenyl; W : 2-6C alkylene optionally interrupted by 1 or 2 oxygen atoms, or -NR 5>; R 5>R 3>or phenyl; Y : vinyl or group of formula CH 2CH 2Z; and Z : alkali eliminable group.
