Disclosed is a binder for electric double layer capacitors which is composed of a polymer (A) containing an acrylate monomer unit and having two or more glass transition temperatures. Also disclosed is a composition for electric double layer capacitors which contains this binder and an electrode active material. Further disclosed is an electrode for electric double layer capacitors having excellent heat resistance and excellent flexibility wherein this composition is superposed on a collector and the binding strength between the electrode active material and the collector is high. Still further disclosed is an electric double layer capacitor with high electric capacity and low internal resistance which comprises this electrode.
