Ballast with dimming device

摘要

The ballast has a dimming device to operate a low pressure discharge lamp by lamp current pulses spaced apart from one another. The device controls the brightness of the lamp in a higher brightness range by adjusting the amplitude of the lamp current generated by an inverter. The device controls brightness in a lower brightness range by adjusting pulse-duty factors between pulse duration and interpulse intervals of the current. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a low pressure discharge lamp comprising an electronic ballast (2) a method for controlling brightness of a low pressure discharge lamp.
