The portion has a set of tube segments (9), each having a connecting unit (11) that cooperates with a connecting unit of the adjacent segment. Control wires controls bending of the portion. The connecting unit is provided in such a way that they axially protrude from its faces and located within a mantle of the segment. The connecting unit is provided on the respective faces of the adjacent tube segments. An independent claim is also included for a method of producing a bendable portion.
