A METHOD FOR PREPARING YOUNG COCONUTS FOR SERVING COMPRISES OF STEPS, IN ANY ORDER, OF:- (I) CUTTING THE BASE (7) OFF THE COCONUT WITHOUT CUTTING THE SHELL (15) OF THE COCONUT TO PROVIDE A FLAT STANDING SURFACE (9); (II) CUTTING THE SIDES (5) OFF THE COCONUTS FROM A REGION IN THE VICINITY OF ITS CENTRE LINE DOWNWARDLY TOWARDS SAID FLAT SURFACE (9) WITHOUT CUTTING THE SHELL OF THE COCONUT TO PROVIDE A PLURALITY OF FLAT SIDES (13) AROUND THE COCONUT; AND (III) CUTTING THE CROWN (10) OF THE COCONUT FROM SAID SIDES TO FORM A CONICAL OR PYRIMIDAL DOME IN WHICH A RING OF COCONUT FLESH (12) IS EXPOSED AND A CONE (11) OF HUSK REMAINS ABOVE THE EXPOSED RING (12) AND THEN (IV) EITHER (A) CLEANING SAID CONE (11) OF HUSK FROM THE COCONUT WITHOUT BREAKING THE FLESH (12) OR (B) CUTTING OUT THE FLESH (12) WITHOUT BREAKING IT USING A FLEXIBLE CUTTER (14) INSERTED BETWEEN THE FLESH (12) AND THE SHELL (15) OF THE COCONUT, PACKING SAID CUT OUT FLESH (12) IN TRANSPARENT PLASTICS FILM (17) AND INVERTING SAID PACKED FLESH (12,17) AND PLACING IT WITH THE CONE (11) OF HUSK DOWN IN THE EMPTY SHELL (15).
