PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device or the like capable of accelerating access to image data using data buffering suitable for development processing in the printing device. SOLUTION: The printing device which executes printing based on the image data expressed by each pixel comprises a control means for generating the image data, a first memory for storing the image data in a picture drawing region, and a second memory to which access can be executed sooner than the access to the first memory and allows the control means to read and access to the image data in the picture drawing region. When there is any read access from the control means with respect to the picture drawing region, a prescribed unit of the image data containing the data of address specified by the read access is read into the second memory, as well as the image data which are a part of the image data read into the second memory, including the data of the specified address, are transferred to the control means not through the second memory.
