PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a centering and chamfering method for a lens by which machining can be executed without changing a chamfering width or the like even if a dimension of the outer diameter is corrected, and also, a setting time for conditions of the machining can be reduced. SOLUTION: Centering of the lens 1 for executing outer peripheral grinding of the lens by a tool 11 and chamfering for grinding the boundary part between the outer peripheral face and the end face of the lens 1 are executed in series in the centering and chamfering method for a lens. When the outer diameter of the machined lens 1 is changed, the centering and chamfering of the lens 1 are executed again after correcting a relative position between the tool 11 and the lens 1 during the centering of the lens on the basis of a change amount of the outer diameter and a curvature radius of the end face of the lens.
