A water treatment apparatus for fuel cell involving treating of any water recovered from fuel cell by means of an electric deionization unit, which water treatment apparatus is improved so as to satisfactorily remove fluorine from water flowing in the electric deionization unit, being compact and of a unified body. Waste water from the negative electrode compartment of electric deionization unit (4) is passed through transfer pipe (18) into air wash compartment (20), and simultaneously air is blown into the air wash compartment (20) to thereby carry out air washing. The air having undergone the air washing is blown into a lower zone of decarbonation compartment (30). In the compartment (30), the water recovered from fuel cell is brought into contact with this air to thereby effect decarbonation. Thereafter, the water is sequentially passed by means of pump (62) through defluorination compartments (70,72,74) and heavy metal removing compartments (80,82), and fed into the electric deionization unit (4). |
