An element for engaging a portable media player and an assembly of an element and a media player, where the element is adapted to engage the media player and facilitate orientating the media player in each of four different orientations: upright portrait mode, upright landscape mode, horizontal portrait mode and nearly horizontal landscape mode. In addition, the element is adapted to determine the orientation of the media player and operate built-in speakers accordingly. Also, the media player may be operated to initiate or shift to software or applications predetermined for each individual orientation. |
