PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light pen in which an emission point of an emission part is prevented from becoming a shadow of a hand, which is easy to grasp in the case of use, which prevents itself from falling from the hand and from rolling when it is put at a place with inclination. SOLUTION: The light pen 100 has a pen main frame 110 which forms a bar-like shape and the tip part of which is equipped with the emission part 150 which emits light and a holding part 120 provided to the pen main frame 110 and extending in the direction approximately perpendicular to both side of a rear edge of the pen main frame 110. A power source part is provided inside the holding part 120. In using the light pen 100, since a user can hold it by grasping the holding part 120, a hand position is prescribed at the rear edge of the pen main frame 110 distant from the tip part of the pen main frame 110 irrespective of user's dominant hand.
