A rubber bush, Fig. 4, for a flexible mounting has one or both ends flared or flanged outwardly in the unstressed condition. When stretched and placed over a rigid inner sleeve the outer surface of the bush assumes either a completely cylindrical shape or a cylindrical shape with a flange at one end normal to the surface. Fig. 3 shows a cylindrical type of bush 12 on a sleeve 13 damped inside an eye 10 of a leaf spring by a bolt 14. Fig. 7 shows a further embodiment in the unstressed condition. A further embodiment is described in which an end 51 of the bush is not flared and flange 50 and the cylindrical portion of the bush meet in an annular groove. |
