摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein startability is undesirable in many cases where a timer piston is not on the ignition timing advance side when starting an engine next time, since the timer piston for determining the fuel injection timing stays in a position when performing stopping processing, when performing the stopping processing of the engine in a conventional fuel injection system, though it is generally known that the more the fuel injection timing is shifted to the ignition timing advance side, the better the startability of the engine. SOLUTION: An ECM 21 stops the engine 20 by stopping fuel injection of a fuel injection pump 40 when an actual phase difference C reaches a stopping time target phase difference Z, by moving the timer piston 52 to the ignition timing advance side. A load of a battery can be reduced by shortening starting time of a self-starting motor more than conventional starting time since the startability is improved when stating the engine next time, by stopping the fuel injection timing on the ignition timing advance side superior in the startability of the engine, when stopping the engine.
