PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bristle material for a brush with less opening and wear than a conventional resin bristle material after using the long-time, and a brush using the bristle material. SOLUTION: The bristle material for the brush is made of a monofilament obtained from a thermoplastic resin composition comprising 90-60 wight% polypropylene terephthalate and 10-40 weight% polybutylene terephthalate.
