PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method for an adherend which method sticks a sheet for improving processability, transportability, etc., in processing the adherend, enables the sheet to be easily peeled off when the processing etc. are completed and the sheet becomes unnecessary, and does not cause curls or wrinkles even after a heating press treatment process; and a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet used in the processing method. SOLUTION: In the processing method, an adherend (b) is processed after it is stuck to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer side of a pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet (a) having a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on one side of a base material film. In the method, when the pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet (a) and the adherend (b) are each heated from 30°C to 170°C and then cooled from 170°C to 30°C, the relation between the heat shrinkage A of the pressure sensitive adhesive sheet (a) in the cooling step and the heat shrinkage B of the adherend (b) in the cooling step satisfies A≥B. The pressure-sensitive adhesive sheet used in the processing method has such characteristics that the relation under the above conditions between the heat shrinkage A and the heat shrinkage B satisfies A≥B.
