SIGNAL CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal control system capable of substantially reducing occurrence of traffic congestion by deciding a proper signal control parameter while considering traffic density of every branch direction such as right-turn, left-turn and straight of vehicles at an intersection.

SOLUTION: A traffic density measuring device 2 measures the traffic density of the vehicles at the intersection for every branch direction. A signal control device 1 calculates a green signal time utilization rate on the basis of the traffic density measured by the traffic density measuring device for every branch direction. The signal control device 1 determines the signal control parameter on the basis of the calculated green signal time utilization rate.
