PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide at a low cost an acrylate copolymer emulsion low in permanent elongation and excellent in dynamic adhesion and elasticity, while suppressing stickiness associated with conventional acrylate having Tg of -40 to 0°C. SOLUTION: This method for producing the acrylate copolymer emulsion is characterized by using less amount of a catalyst for polymerizing an acrylic monomer than that used in usual polymerization process, and by applying metallic crosslinking. As a result, an acrylic resin excellent in dynamic adhesion and flexibility and low in permanent elongation while retaining excellent toughness and weatherability featured by an acrylic resin. Also it becomes possible to raise solid content concentration in the emulsion up to 50% or higher because the amount of used catalyst is lowered. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
