PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pest-controlling agent having improved photostability of an ester compound represented by formula (1). SOLUTION: The pest-controlling agent contains the ester compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and R<SP>2</SP>is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group, a methoxy group or a methoxymethyl group) and bis(2,3,3,3-tetrachloropropyl) ether regulated so that the ratio of the ester compound represented by formula (1) to the bis(2,3,3,3-tetrachloropropyl) ether may be (1:5) to (1:100) by weight.
