A transmitting apparatus capable of reducing the distortion of a vector modulated wave, which is a transmitted output, to a sufficiently low level. An amplifying part (105) generates, based on an amplitude component modulating signal and a phase modulated wave, a vector modulated wave. A synchronization demodulating part (107) detects the vector modulated wave to generate and send a synchronization demodulated signal to a band filtering part (108). The band filtering part (108) extracts a distortion frequency component signal from the synchronization demodulated signal outputted from the synchronization demodulating part (107). A control part (109) refers to the distortion component signal extracted by the band filtering part (108) and controls a delay time adjusting part (103) so as to reduce the level of the distortion component signal, thereby adjusting a delay time difference between the amplitude component modulating signal and the phase component modulating signal to reduce the distortion of the modulated wave.
