The system to heat and/or cool material which is being processed, e.g. to counter friction heat during the mixing of pharmaceutical or cosmetic products, has a medium flowing in a circuit through a heat exchanger (3). The heat exchanger has a Peltier element (1) coupled to the heating/cooling surface, i.e. mounted at the cooling surface (2), with connector lines as droplet-free connections. The heat exchanger assembly is linked to at least one application tool (5) of a flexible material with metal plug pins (4) to vary the temperature.
