<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly precise toner amount detector which is hardly affected by light absorption characteristics of toner and to provide an image forming apparatus which can control the amount of toner sticking onto an image carrier highly precisely. <P>SOLUTION: The toner amount detector is equipped with light emitting elements 15 which irradiate a photoreceptor drum 1 with lights having a plurality of wavelengths, a light receiving element 16 which receives reflected lights of the irradiating lights from the light emitting elements 15 which are reflected on the photoreceptor drum 1, and an arithmetic circuit 17 which finds the amount of toner carried on the photoreceptor drum 1 by light reception signals of the reflected lights of the respective irradiating lights having the plurality of wavelengths obtained by the light receiving element 16. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
