PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure of a vehicle body capable of effectively absorbing the impact load in an offset collision. SOLUTION: The structure of the vehicle body has a pair of side members 12 extending in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle 11 and arranged with a space from each other in the width direction of the vehicle, and a sub frame 16 which is supported by a front portion 13 of each side member to reinforce the front portion and supports an engine 23 of the vehicle 11. A cover member 26 to distribute the impact load on one side of the engine 23 with respect to its center P of gravity toward the other side with respect to the center P of gravity of the engine 23 when one side member 12 is subjected to an impact from a front side of the vehicle 11 is provided on a front side 24a of a housing 24 of the engine 23.
