PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication method and communications equipment for automatically switching an access destination in an environment, where a network cannot be used. SOLUTION: A terminal which communicates with a server which executes an application available through a network executes a first step for deciding whether a network can be used by performing access to the server by using an IP address after DNS name solution; a second step for setting the server at the destination of access, when it is decided that the network can be used; a third step for setting own IP address or DNS name at the destination of access, when it is decided that the network cannot be used; and a fourth step for starting the application on the server, when the server is set at the access destination, and for starting the application on the terminal, when own IP address or DNS name is set at the access destination.
