<p>A vertical magnetic recording head which prevents a recording magnetic field generated from a main magnetic pole from leaking in a horizontal direction from the main magnetic pole and performs recording without a blur at the time of recording on a recording medium. A vertical magnetic recording head provided with the main magnetic pole (10) having a leading end magnetic pole (10a) and a trailing shield (12) is characterized in that the training shield (12) is provided with a protruding magnetic pole (12b) which protrudes toward the leading end magnetic pole (10a) of the main magnetic pole (10). The leading end magnetic pole (10a) provided on the main magnetic pole (10) is formed to have a reverse trapezoidal end surface, and a side surface of the protruding magnetic pole (12b) is positioned on an extended line on a side surface of the leading end magnetic pole (10a).</p> |
