PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating drum device by which excellent head touch is obtained by stabilizing a contact state between a magnetic tape 2 and a magnetic head 4. SOLUTION: The rotating drum device is characterized that it is provided with: a fixed drum which guides the magnetic tape; a rotating drum coaxially provided to the fixed drum and about which the magnetic tape is wound; an aperture provided to the rotating drum; a magnetic head provided to aperture, arranged at a position via a gap to an inner wall of the aperture and slid with the magnetic tape; and a projection part provided at an upper part of the magnetic head in the aperture. The projection part is arranged to the magnetic head providing a gap, a gap dimension between the lower edge of the projection part and the upper edge of the magnetic head is smaller than a gap dimension between the lower edge of the magnetic head and the upper edge of the fixing drum.
