PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system of an elevator capable of finding any suspicious person hiding himself in a place as dead angle of a hall before the elevator car arrives and taking an appropriate measure for securing the safety of passengers. SOLUTION: The security system of the elevator includes a human body sensor 19 installed in a place 15a as dead angle of an elevator hall 15. A main control device 11 determines as a suspicious person if the sensor 19 detects existence of any person continuously for the prescribed time or longer, and controls the operation of the car control device 12 to the floor where the suspicious person person exists. Thereby it is possible to protect the passengers in the car against the suspicious person in case such a person hides himself in a place as dead angle of the hall. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
